The FranklinWH aPower 2 is the second-generation flagship home battery from FranklinWH, and it raises the bar for residential energy storage. With an industry-leading 15 kWh of usable energy in a single unit and 10 kW of continuous output power, the aPower 2 is built to handle the most demanding whole-home backup scenarios.
What makes FranklinWH unique is their whole-home energy management approach. The aPower 2 works in conjunction with the FranklinWH aGate controller, which intelligently manages energy from solar, grid, generator, and even EV sources. This means your battery is not just storing energy – it is part of a smart system that optimizes how your entire home uses power.
Key Features
Largest Single-Unit Capacity: 15 kWh of usable energy in one battery means fewer units needed for whole-home backup. A single aPower 2 can keep most homes running through an overnight outage.
Powerful Output: 10 kW continuous and up to 15 kW peak (10 seconds) or 25 kW peak (1 second). The 185 A LRA motor start capability can start a 5-ton air conditioner while running essential home loads.
LFP Battery Chemistry: Lithium iron phosphate cells provide inherently stable chemistry with exceptional thermal stability, making it safer than NMC alternatives even under extreme conditions.
15-Year Warranty: Backed by a 15-year or 60 MWh throughput warranty, one of the longest and most generous in the residential battery market.
Massive Scalability: Stack up to 15 aPower batteries per aGate controller for a maximum of 225 kWh of storage. The system also supports parallel AC-coupled connection with FranklinWH aPower S batteries.
IP67 Weather Protection: The battery pack and inverter are rated IP67, meaning they are fully sealed against dust and protected against water immersion up to 3.3 feet for 30 minutes.
FranklinWH App: Monitor energy flows, manage battery modes (Self-Consumption, Time of Use, Emergency Backup), and receive storm alerts from your smartphone.
